Reflection: Megan Elliot
I believe project citizen has been a good learning opportunity for me as I was able to see the extent of the mental health issues across the country and within Ridge. I was also able to see how a large number of people wanted change in regard to mental health and how it is approached and talked about in school and every day life. With this project I was able to learn how to research properly and efficiently while also working in a large group. Another great thing about this project was that I was able to learn how to keep up and engaged in a project that lasted more than a week or two. Since project citizen is so long, I was able to learn how to work with a large group for an extended period of time and keep up with all my work across the few months we did it for. This project allowed me to see how hard it is to make change in within a school and its curriculum, and how hard it is to make changes within a society. This project allowed me to become a citizen that cares more about society and the problems that I and my peers face within it, especially in regard to mental health.
